Call for Promising Practices in Education in Response to COVID-19

Have you been helping learners to participate and stay engaged in learning opportunities during the COVID-19 pandemic? Would you like to share your work with other education stakeholders in a learning webinar?

This is your opportunity to support education stakeholders across the globe and across the education continuum (pre-primary through higher education) to learn and share with each other evidence-based promising approaches you and your organization have developed to mitigate learning loss and sustain learning and wellbeing outcomes in the midst of the global pandemic.  

A research team from the University of Auckland (UoA), sponsored by USAID through the Leading Through Learning Global Platform (Leading Through Learning), is seeking examples of actions, approaches, or programs that:

• Are either complete or ongoing, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic;
• Are helping learners to stay engaged and participate in learning opportunities, and/or are addressing the psychosocial impacts of the pandemic, and/or are helping to minimize or address learning loss in some way. This may be through direct support to learners and/or to teachers, to parents and caregivers, and/or to education systems more broadly;
• Have data and/or evidence to showcase its outcomes/impact (Note: Even a limited data set is worth sharing);

It’s easy to share your work! Here is a link to a submission form we ask you to complete to help us gain insight into a ‘snapshot’ of your intervention. There is an option at the end of the form to share links to supporting materials that further showcase your intervention. The brief form should take less than 15 minutes to complete.

Submissions are open from now until midnight EDT on Monday, June 13, 2022. You will be contacted by Wednesday, July 20, 2022, if your intervention is selected for inclusion in a developmental learning webinar – expected mid-August to late-September 2022, hosted by the Leading Through Learning networks – and in a subsequent case study report to be drafted by the UoA team and published by Leading Through Learning on behalf of USAID. 

If selected, the UoA team will work with you via interviews and document review to further understand your intervention, its outcomes and impacts, and to help you prepare to share your intervention with a wider audience. The expected time commitment would be a maximum of 5 hours of your time during August or September.

All education stakeholders are invited to participate in the resulting webinars and to share thoughts and insights on COVID-19 education responses. More information will follow once these events are scheduled.
