Balancing Linguistic and Contextual Factors: Lessons Learned from Supporting Reading in Three Alpha-Syllabic Script Languages
This presentation describes issues related to early grade reading instruction of alpha-syllabic languages. The presenters share experiences from reading programs in Ethiopia and Nepal and talk about decisions that were made to develop an appropriate scope and sequence and approach for instruction in alpha-syllabic languages.
