Creative Commons Basics
Realizing the critical role that an open educational resource (OER) policy can play in supporting Early Grade Reading (EGR) efforts, the Global Reading Network collaborated with Global Book Alliance (GBA) and All Children Reading (ACR) and conducted a series of three in-depth webinar-based trainings on open licensing in April and in the summer months of 2019. The webinars supported ministries of education, publishers and Early Grade Reading (EGR) implementers as they work to provide open EGR resources.
The first webinar, offered on April 10 and April 24-25, focused on basic information about Creative Commons. Creative Commons clarifies how the public may access, use and adapt resources, but also encourages respect for copyright and copyright holders. Both webinars featured Cable Green, Director of Open Education at Creative Commons.
