Learning Agenda: Coming Soon!
The USAID Foundational Skills Development Learning Agenda is a set of questions, updated and posted in March 2024, that address critical USAID and partner knowledge gaps. The learning agenda presents key learning questions about literacy, numeracy, and socio-emotional learning, from early childhood through adulthood. USAID recognizes that the answers to each of the questions will vary based on context.
This learning agenda comprises part of a collection of prioritized learning questions developed through a consultative process with USAID's Center for Education (USAID/EDU), USAID Operating Units (e.g., Missions, Regional Bureaus, Functional/Pillar Bureaus), global education networks, and key education stakeholders based in USAID implementing countries.
By addressing these questions, USAID will generate evidence that implementing partners, host-country governments, and other donors and partners can use to strengthen systems, and, ultimately, ensure all children have the literacy, numeracy and socio-emotional skills to be successful. USAID plans to examine these questions in as many contexts as possible and then to provide clear guidance on the best use of study results for given contexts.
The USAID Center for Education welcomes feedback and engagement regarding this learning agenda. Please contact us at education@usaid.gov with questions or share existing research to address these questions at the link below.
