Celebrate World Teachers’ Day on October 5

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) established World Teachers’ Day in 1994 to recognize the vital contributions that teachers make to global society. The celebration, which takes place on October 5 each year, honors the 1966 UNESCO/ILO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers. The theme of this year’s celebration is “Teaching in Freedom, Empowering Teachers.”
