Celebrities Campaign for Women’s Education

Although International Women’s Day isn’t until March 8, more than 80 celebrities including Natalie Portman, Lady Gaga, Charlize Theron, Robin Wright and Isla Fisher have banded together to sign an open letter that addresses the lack of education available to many girls worldwide. The letter is part of a campaign organized by ONE, an advocacy group cofounded by Bono of U2.

The letter points out the critical importance of education, stating, “Education is vital for moving out of poverty. Every additional year of school that a girl completes increases her future earnings, which is good for her family, her community, and her country.” To add your name to the letter, visit the ONE website.
