Global Reading Network’s June Webinars Focus on Disabilities in Reading

As part of its ongoing efforts to provide members of the Community of Practice with valuable professional development opportunities, the Global Reading Network offers webinars twice a month. June’s webinars focus on Disabilities in Reading.

The webinar on June 7 is scheduled from 10 - 11:30 AM EDT. It will provide an overview of USAID's work on inclusive education, particularly in reading from Joshua Josa, USAID. This will be followed by insights by Corinne Vinopol, IDRT, and Kristina Solum, STS International, into an All Children Reading: A Grand Challenge for Development (ACR GCD) initiative focused on supporting a program for hard of hearing/deaf children in Morocco, co-funded by USAID, the Australian Government and World Vision. Nicholas Hoekstra, from the WIPO, will be our discussant. Deepa Srikantaiah of GRN will moderate the webinar. Listeners will have the opportunity to submit questions to the speakers. The webinar on June 21 will take place from 9 - 10 AM EDT and will provide an in-depth discussion on other disabilities and reading initiatives at the local level. Check the GRN website regularly for further information and registration details for this webinar.
