Senior Reading Specialist for Senegal
Chemonics International seeks a Senior Reading Specialist to provide onsite technical oversight and guidance to the Senegal Lecture Pour Tous (All Children Reading) program. Lecture Pour Tous targets seven regions in Senegal to improve early grade reading instruction, enhance delivery systems for early grade reading instruction and improve parent and community engagement in early grade reading. The individual will provide technical direction to program staff on essential components of evidence-based reading programs, help coordinate inputs from multiple partners and engage with actors across the education system to improve learning outcomes at the primary-school level.
Required qualifications include the following: a master’s degree with a specialty in early grade reading, (focus on curriculum development or reading instruction preferred); a minimum of 4 years of experience directing international programs working to improve early grade reading; and a minimum of 4 years of experience conducting teacher training/coaching and training of trainers. Senior Early Grade Reading Advisor for the DRC
Chemonics International seeks a Senior Early Grade Reading Advisor (SEGRA) to provide technical direction and oversight of programmatic activities focused on improving education quality, with a focus on early grade reading and writing, in both formal and non-formal schools, for the ACCELERE! Activity 1 project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). ACCELERE! Activity 1 is a USAID- and DFID-funded $134 million primary education initiative operating in 26 education sub-provinces throughout the DRC.
Required qualifications include the following: a master’s degree (or equivalent) in education with a specialization in curriculum, instruction, reading education, literacy, linguistics, or a related field (doctorate preferred); a minimum of 10 years of experience in the education sector; and a minimum of 5 years of experience in senior technical roles in early grade reading.
