New Resource on Coaching Now Available

Providing ongoing, classroom-based support to teachers is critically important to improving instruction—and student outcomes. Coaching in Early Grade Reading Programs: Evidence, Experiences and Recommendations, a new resource developed by Reading within Reach (REACH) in collaboration with the Global Reading Network (GRN), aims to support efforts to provide coaching support to teachers in low- and middle-income countries.

Authored by REACH Reading Program Specialist Alison Pflepsen, with technical input and reviews provided by GRN community of practice members, Coaching in Early Grade Reading Programs: (1) summarizes key research on coaching; (2) describes recent early grade reading program experiences with coaching; and (3) provides practical guidance on various aspects of coaching, from coach training and support to evaluating and planning for the expansion of coaching activities. Access this exciting new resource here.
