Education Priorité Qualité Program in Senegal

In a four-year project with the U.S. Agency for International Development, RTI helped Senegal decentralize its teacher preparation process; improve school policy, systems, and governance; strengthen students' basic skills in reading and math; and provide life and employability opportunities for middle school youth. In addition, their work used specific reading and math education evaluation tools to track students' progress in their first year of middle school at baseline, mid-term, and final assessments. The project facilitated policy dialogue and supported institutional framework design at regional and national levels for a standards-based certification system and professional development program for teachers.
