The ABC's for Designing Reading Programs
Sylvia Linan-Thompson, a senior education research analyst working on RTI’s EdData project, together with Mitch Kirby from USAID, delivered a presentation at the 2011 Global Education Workshop: From Evidence to Action explaining the need for reading programs in schools and why the design of these programs is crucial to achieving successful learning outcomes. The presentation includes an explanation of USAID’s program design process, as well as descriptions of what characterizes effective teachers and classrooms.
