Abstract (200 Character Limit) :

As part of REACH's ongoing effort to support early grade reading improvement globally, teachers, educators and administrators were invited to attend an onlne professional development series - Early Grade Reading Program Design and Implementation: Best Practices and Resources for Success during the summer of 2019. The five-part series of two-hour "short courses" focused on major components and critical issues in early grade reading.

This session, Continuous Professional Development in Early Grade Reading Programs, focused on the types, characteristics and content of effective continuous professional development (CPD) for those responsible for early grade reading improvement. This webinar included an overview of what knowledge and skills EGR actors need to have and considerations when planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating teacher and educator CPD.
