The purpose of this webinar series in November 2018 is to provide information, guidance and resources on Early Grade Reading program design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation to members of the Global Reading Network community of practice, as well as to provide an opportunity for participants to share and learn from each other.

During this particular webinar session attendees were shown:

* Key skills to teach and learn in the early grades

* What reading is and stages of reading development

* Early grade reading skills terminology, definitions and explanations

* Considerations when identifying the appropriate content for an EGR program

* Effective stategies, approaches and activities for teaching reading and writing to young learners

* Conducting and using classroom-based assessments to inform instruction

* Tools teachers can use to support instruction

* Considerations when planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating EGR instruction
